Agnes (Reardon) Holland of Dennis, formerly of Bethesda, MD and Milton, passed away on July 26, 2011 at Springhouse Assisted Living Facility in Jamaica Plain. She was 72 years old.
Originally from Dorchester, Mrs. Holland was a graduate of Girls Latin School and Boston State Teacher's College She was a reading specialist and elementary school teacher, and was part of the first head Start program in Alexandria, VA in the 1960's. A devout Catholic, she spent many years as the pre-kindergarten teacher at the Little Flower School in Bethesda, MD. After her retirement, she and her husband moved to Dennis in 1996. A former volunteer for the Family Food Pantry and a Eucharistic Minister, Mrs. Holland was a member of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren G. Holland Sr. She is survived by her son, Warren G. Holland Jr. and his wife Sarah of Fairfax, VA; her daughter Roberta (Holland) Dimitriou and her husband Angelo of Norwood; grandchildren Alexandra and TJ Dimitriou; her sister Marion Reardon of Canton; brother-in-law Robert M. Holland of OH; Sister-in-law Joan Reardon of Medfield and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Reardon, Frank Reardon, and Ann Reardon.
Agnes' Funeral Mass was celebrated July 30, 2011 at St. Theresa of Avila in West Roxbury.
