Thomas M. Simbro, age 84, of Fall River passed away July 25, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Julia (Rapoza) Simbro for 64 years, and the son of the late Antonio M. and Sizaltina (Cabral) Simbro. Prior to retiring, Tom worked as a Firefighter for the City of Fall River Fire Dept. for 29 yrs. Thomas also worked as a Cook at White’s Restaurant on the Watuppa for 30 years. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and a parishioner of St. Michael Church. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Tom was best known as being a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Thomas was the father of Deborah Mello & her husband William of Fall River, Cynthia Lachance & her husband Jeffrey of Methuen, MA, and Thomas Simbro & his wife Elizabeth of Bristol, RI; the brother of Robert Moore & Laura Rogers both of Fall River, and the late Sally Borges, Manuel, Joseph, and John Simbro; the grandfather of Will Mello, Melissa McHenry, Julia Lachance, and Maryann Simbro; the great grandfather of Kelsey, Matthew, Jaime, Alex, Camryn, and Sebastian; and the uncle to several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on THURSDAY with visitation from 8:30-10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
