Donald Reginald Chapman, age 81, Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Chapman was born on November 26, 1929 to the late Clyde and Clara Croft Chapman in Berlin, GA. He was a security service manager; taught ROTC in Quincy, FL and he was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by wife: Ramona Tucker Chapman, son: Phillip Chapman, daughter: Linda Perkins; brothers: Gerald Chapman and Darrell Chapman; sisters: Maxine Stone and Faye Elliott. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with interment following in the Sweetwater Church Cemetery, Pearson, GA. Survivors include: sister: Charlotte (Dale) Witherington; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; special friend: Katherine Key, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
