Barbara C. Baldwin, age 87

TEWKSBURY: Barbara C. (Beal) Baldwin, age 87, an active and well known resident of Tewksbury, passed away surrounded by her family, on Thursday evening, July 21, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, following a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of Frederick H. Baldwin, Sr., with whom she would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on August 26, 2011.
Born in Newton, MA on July 17, 1924, she was one of five children of the late Francis Beal and the late Doris (Smith) Beal.
Barbara was raised in Newton and Malden, and graduated from Malden High School in 1942.
She resided in Tewksbury for 57 years, and was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Drop-In-Center as well as the Tewksbury Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Baldwin was a longtime member and supporter of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lowell, where she served as a vestry person and was a member of St. Christina's Guild.
Barbara enjoyed spending the summer months with her family in York, Maine, oil painting, dancing, and attending social gatherings with her beloved husband and many friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, Barbara is survived by one daughter, Marcia (Baldwin)Foster and her husband Hank of York, ME; her daughter-in-law, Ellen Baldwin of York, ME; two grandchildren, Christopher Baldwin of Santa Monica, CA, and Katie (Baldwin)Watts and her husband John of York, ME; one step-grandson, Christian Foster of Cape Elizabeth, ME; one great grandson, Sawyer Watts of York, ME; one step-great grandson, Lucas Foster of Cape Elizabeth, ME; also many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was pre-deceased by her son, Frederick H. Baldwin, Jr., who passed away on March 11, 2001 as well as three brothers and one sister.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 25, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be Tuesday, July 26, at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Service at 11 a.m., at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, corner of Merrimack & Kirk Sts., Lowell. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
