Inella Vernell Davis, age 69, Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Savannah Hospice following an extended illness. Mrs. Davis was born on September 2, 1941 to the late Emmett and Allie Mae Bazemore Prescott in Jeff Davis County, GA. Mrs. Davis was the widow of Jeff Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 a..m. with interment following in the Royals Church Cemetery. Survivors include: daughters: Delois Purificato, Boca Raton, FL, Ivalynn Moore and Nora Corbitt, both of Douglas, GA; Mona Lisa Chaney, Nicholls, GA; son: Stafford Davis, Douglas, GA; stepdaughter: Lois Peacock, Jacksonville, FL; stepsons: Lamar Davis, Melvin Davis, Willie Clarson and Tommy Davis all of Douglas, GA; sister: Sarah (John) Stewart, Columbia, SC; brothers: Ralph (Elizabeth) Prescott, Troy (Charlene) Prescott, Broxton, GA, Roy (Virginia) Prescott, Ambrose, GA; half sister: Eva Mae Willington, Jacksonville, FL; 9 grandchildren; 19 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23, 2011 and Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
