John Wayne Dalton, 61, of Ocilla, Georgia died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City, Alabama.
Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, July 24, at Barnes Chapel in Berrien County with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating.
Mr. Dalton was born September 16, 1949 in Wilcox County to the late Rhodus Dalton and the late Polly Bruce Dalton Timmons. He moved to Ocilla four years ago from Fitzgerald and was a 1967 graduate of Wilcox County High School. Mr. Dalton served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era. He retired from Delphi and was a member of the U.A.W. Union. Mr. Dalton attended Barnes Chapel in Berrien County.
He is survived by his wife: Kay Duckworth Dalton of Ocilla; son: Micheal Dalton of Abbeville; granddaughter: Kelsie Dalton of Phenix City, AL; stepchildren: Rhonda Griffin of Fitzgerald, Gordon Tapp of Irwin County and Lamar Tapp of Milan; brother: W.L. Timmons of Turner County; sisters: Patricia Ann Brown of Kathleen and Janie Ruth Morgan of Turner County. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dolphus Dalton
