Lena L. Mainor Gordon, 87, of Tifton died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Keith Burch and Rev. Paul Anderson will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Jamie Livingston, J. L. Yawn, Thomas Sealy, Brian Sealy, Duane Sealy, Wiley Gerard and William Brent Shivers, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Gordon was born on March 22, 1924 in Randolph County and was the daughter of Alex Mainor and Annie Conner Mainor, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Charles Gordon; and six siblings. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Tifton. She had lived in Tifton since 1969.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Marvin and Linda Gordon and John and Gina Gordon, all of Tifton; two daughters, Shirley Shivers and Betty Graham, both of Tifton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and son John’s mother-in-law, Joyce Ann Dillard.
