Obituary

Halifax – Charles Edwin Sayce, Jr. 84 formerly a long time resident of Hanson died Monday July 18 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Laura R. (Thompson) Sayce.

Born and raised in Hanson he was the son of the late Charles E. and Ada (Tassinari) Sayce.

Charles was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy from 1944-1946.

Before his retirement and move to Halifax, he had worked many years as a supervisor at the former Boston Whaler of Rockland.

He loved fishing, hunting, and was a loyal fan of the local sports teams, as well as an avid gardener and a lifetime member of the Hanson AA.

He was truly a devoted family man and his greatest pleasure came from the time spent with his loving family.

In addition to his beloved wife Laura, he is survived by his loving children Janet Arsenault and her husband Terry, Jayne Johnson and her fiancée Chuck Williams, and Daniel G. Sayce and his wife Janice, his brothers Harold Sayce and his wife Ann, Allan Sayce and his wife Ruthie, his sister Louise Grant and her husband John and his sister-in-law Frances Sayce. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren whom he adored, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wallace, Russell, George and Ralph Sayce and grandfather of the late Tracy Arsenault.
