Obituary

Margaret M. (Tagen) Coyne, a longtime resident of Charlestown, died on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Wakefield Care and Rehab. Center in Wakefield after a lengthy illness. She was 89 years old.

Margaret was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools. Margaret enlisted into the United States Womens Army Air Corps in 1942 and served her country proudly and honorably during World War II and was discharged in 1945. Margaret lived in Malden for several years before moving to Burlington where she also lived for several years. Margaret was a homemaker most of her adult life. She was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.

Margaret is the beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Coyne. She is the devoted mother of Margaret M. Crowley and her husband David of Melrose, Thomas P. Coyne Jr. and his wife Susan of Wilmington and Stephen J. Coyne and his wife Nancy L. of Methuen. She is the loving Grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of the late Mary Yahnian, Frederick, Harry, Buddy and Mickey Tagen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret's Funeral on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
