
Maria Olivia (Sousa) Costa, of Plymouth formerly of Ludlow, died on July 19th at the Jordan Hospital. She was 81. Beloved wife of the late Manuel Costa, she is survived by her son Robert Costa and his wife Joanne of Plymouth and her daughters Deborah Mirotta and her husband Joseph of Harwich and Liz Cavacco and her husband Kristain of Plymouth. She also leaves her 9 cherished grandchildren Joey, Kathleen, Robert, Sara, Joanna, Michael, Erin, Ethan and Zackary, her sisters Joanne Compos of Swansea and Hirondina Ledo of Somerset and many nieces and nephews. She was born and attended school in Portugal. Maria and her husband owned the Costa’s Market on White Horse Beach and she was also a seamstress. She loved to dance especially line dancing and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 21st at 11 AM at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne. There will be a visiting hour at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the mass.
