Evelyn (Vieira) Parent, 83, of Westport, formerly of Fall River, died Sunday, July Rene E. Parent for which they were blessed to share 33 wonderful years.
Born in Fall River she was the daughter of the late Sylvester J. & Mary (Souza) Vieira. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. Mrs. Parent was a member of the Red Hat’s, Classy Ladies and Tiverton Senior Center Knitting Club. She enjoyed sewing and knitting but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Susan Sherman and her husband Dennis of Fall River and Denise A. Harvey and her husband Willie L., Jr. of Jackson, MS; a son: Rene “Ray” Parent and his wife Claire of Westport; 9 grandchildren: Justin, Jeremy and Jordayne Sherman, Ronald Plant, Michelle Murray, Raymond R. Parent, Nicole Parent, Pamela Melanson and Leeanne M. Lynn; 9 great grandchildren, 3 God children: Michael Vieira, Carol (Vieira) Ramsey & Debbie (Vieira) Lotz; several nieces and nephews; she also leaves behind her beloved pet, friend and companion Bandit; she was the sister of the late Alfred S. Vieira.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 9 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10 A.M.
Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
