Obituary

Donald A. Clermont, 73, of Methuen died Saturday at his home with his family by his side.
Born August 20, 1937, in Lowell, MA he was the only son of Arthur and Juliette Clermont. Growing up in Lowell, he attended St. Joseph’s school and graduated from Lowell Technological Institute (UMass Lowell). Donald enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September 1955, serving on both the USS Traverse County and the USS Wasp.
While working at Raytheon Company for 40 years, Donald retired as a Design Draftsman with the honor of having worked on the Apollo 11 Space Program.
Donald enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and carpentry. He was an avid bowler and a long-time member of the Chelmsford Elks Lodge No. 2310. A devout Catholic, Donald was a member of St. Monica’s Parish.
Donald is survived by his wife Judith A. (Eaton) Clermont), his son Scott M. Clermont and his wife Jamie Clermont of Salem, NH, and grandson Xander Donald Clermont. He leaves behind three sisters Aline Mueller of Hudson, NH, Annette Elie of Dracut, MA, and Lucille Labrecque of Tyngsboro, MA along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Thursday at 9:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA.
