METHUEN — Paul A. Cote, 63, of Methuen, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his home in Methuen.
Paul was born in Woburn to the late Arthur and Theresa (Quirk) Cote. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was honorably discharged from service in 1970. For 10 years, he was a Police Officer in the Town of Burlington. Since his retirement from the police department, he had been a realtor and was most recently with Remax in Methuen.
Paul loved spending time with family and friends and was a loyal and caring man. He was full of life and love; one couldn't have a better friend than Paul. He also enjoyed spending time working in his yard, playing golf and traveling with family and friends. Paul and his wife, Kathy, were most proud of their two sons, Timothy and Jeffrey, who meant the world to them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Kathleen (Leary) Cote of Methuen; his two sons, Timothy R. and Jeffrey M. Cote, both of Methuen. He was the brother of Laura and her husband Daniel Perkins, Ann and her husband John Pratt, Patricia and her husband Ernest Lightfoot, all of Tewksbury, Thomas and his wife Annette Cote of Largo, Fla., Mary and her husband Richard Peters of Wilmington, Elizabeth and her husband Steven Maga of Billerica, and Richard and his wife Linda Cote of Wilmington.
Paul also leaves his father and mother-in-law, Eugene J. and Jane M. (Bird) Leary of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Karen M. Brodigan and her husband Michael of Canton; brother-in-law, Joseph A. Leary and his wife Julie of Wilmington; as well as many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Monica's Church in Methuen. Burial will take place at a later date, at the convenience of the family, in Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
