Obituary

Phyllis H. (Strange) Stackpole, of Natick, 93, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Earl Stackpole who passed away in 1978.

Born on June 21, 1918 to the late Frank and Helen (Hadley) Strange, Mrs. Stackpole was a life long resident of Natick. She attended the First Baptist Church in Natick and was an active member of the Golden Aires of Natick. Mrs. Stackpole was a telephone operator for the New England Phone Company for many years before her employment with the Natick Public Library. She enjoyed vacationing on Lake Winnipesaukee with her husband and her family, traveling, and she was an avid bowler.

Phyllis was the devoted mother of Ray Stackpole and his wife Eleanor of Holliston, Howard Stackpole of Natick, and Leonard Stackpole and his wife Karen of Holliston. Loving sister to Joyce (Strange) Leighton of Sterling, Frank Strange II of Sherborn, and Robert Strange of Florida. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stackpole was also predeceased by her daughter, Nancy (Stackpole) MacInnis.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Mrs. Stackpole’s funeral on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11AM in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street (at Natick Common) NATICK. Interment to follow at Dell Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 9 Riverside Road, Weston, MA 02493.
