Obituary

WORCESTER – Peter J. “Uncle Pete” Cangello, 82, passed away Friday July 15th at St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Pete is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Moynahan of Shrewsbury. He was pre-deceased by his siblings, Leo Cangello, Antoinette DiGregorio, Lucille Gallo, and Phyllis Palermo.

Pete was born November 20, 1928 in Worcester, Massachusetts a son of the late Agustino and Caterina (Pasquale) Cangello.

A lifelong resident, Pete worked in the tool and die business for many years and most recently prior to retiring he had worked at Spag’s for ten years. Pete was a founding member of the Columbus Civic Association and a past member of the Biscegliese Club.

He treasured playing tennis with his friends, vacationing in Florida and the Three Seasons in Dennisport. In his younger years, Pete enjoyed the night club scene. But his greatest satisfaction came from his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. They were his love.

Uncle Pete’s Sunday visits were like clock work as he made the rounds for coffee. He will be missed by all who loved him.

His funeral will be held Tuesday July 19th from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 11a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – St Ann Church in Worcester. Burial will be in St John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the Funeral Home, Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M. Fazio Jr. and Louis M.
