Gabriel Piantedosi, a retired hoisting engineer, died Monday at his Medford home, surrounded by his family. He was 84.
Mr. Piantedosi was born and raised in Watertown, the son of the late Joseph and the late Louisa (Mareano) Piantedosi. He served in the Pacific with the Army during World War II. He worked for many years as a hoisting engineer with Jack Marchese Company, Everett and was a member of the Engineer’s Union Local 4.
The husband of the late Yolanda (Tropeano) Piantedosi, he is survived by his children, Linda Piantedosi of Medford, and Robert Piantedosi of Andover. He leaves his grandchildren, Robin Dealmeida and Sean Piantedosi, and one great granddaughter Adrienne Dealmeida. He is also survived by a sister, Marge Mardorcheo of Milford and brother, Anthony Piantedosi of Salem, NH.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Medford, Thursday at 10 AM, with the Rev. Joseph Foster, celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
