Clydie G. Douglas, 91, of Mystic, Georgia died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Gordy Poole officiating. Interment will follow in Mystic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Douglas was born December 1, 1919 in Worth County to the late Carl and Sarah Poole Green. She moved to Mystic in 1967 from Worth County. Mrs. Douglas was a homemaker and co-owner/operator of Harper’s Upholstery Shop in Mystic. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth & Evangeline Powell and Donald & Lynett Powell all of Winter Haven, FL; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; stepchildren: Martha Ann & Tony Handley of Mystic, Wanda & Earl Bridges of Albany, Judy & Melvin Hunt of Mitchell County and June Groover of Jamesville, NC; 6 step grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren; sister: Carrey Langdale Walker of Canton and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Grover W. Douglas, 1 stepson, and 1 stepdaughter.
