BEVERLY: Janet T. (Palardy) Bolden, 81, died Monday, July 11, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was married to the late James W. Bolden.
Born in Salem on May 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Jeannette M. (Roy) Palardy. A lifelong resident of Beverly, she was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1948. Her favorite job was at the United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Beverly, where she worked with her dad.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, and was a member of the Beverly Improvement Society and the Ward Two Civic Association. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling for the Senior League in Beverly. Most of all, she loved visiting with her grandchildren over homemade cookies and popcorn.
Janet will be remembered for being a loving mother, kind neighbor and friend to all.
She is survived by her six children, Marc W. and his wife, Debbie Bolden of Peabody, Bryan C. and his wife, Madelene Bolden of Teaticket, Scott P. and his wife, Candis Bolden of Peabody, Jeanne M. Bolden of Harrisville, RI, Joanne O. Bolden of Beverly and Susan T. and her husband, Thomas Ryan of Topsfield; eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Courtni, Meredith, Tristan, Timothy, Rachael, Daniel, Jeannette, Michael, Samantha and Jaclyn; a great-granddaughter, Grace and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her beloved sister, Dorothy M. Ramsdell and her daughter-in-law, Karen Eldred Bolden.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the North Beverly Cemetery.
