John "Jack" K. Moran, 72, Londonderry, NH died Thursday July 14, 2011 at the Aurora Senior Living Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Moran was born in Malden, MA on June 12, 1939 the son of Kenneth and Barbara (Locklin) Moran. He graduated from Malden High School Class of 1957, and later from Franklin Technical Institute in 1958. He was employed by Barker Steel of Watertown, MA as a draftsman and estimator. He was also employed by Skanska as a QAQC Tech at the Delta Terminal Logan Airport, Boston, MA. He served as Past Master of the Masonic Lodge of Stirling, Malden, MA, and was a current member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church.
Mr. Moran enjoyed carpentry, and had remodeled his home by himself before succumbing to Alzheimers. A musician and avid painter, he played the piano, guitar, and enjoyed oil painting.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith (Hirtle) Moran of Londonderry, one daughter, Susan J. Fisher and her husband Robert of Hudson, NH, two sons, John K. Moran, Jr. and his wife Linda of Middleton, MA, and Robert A. Moran and his wife Cindy of Billerica, MA, nine grandchildren, John, Cassandra, Michael, Makayla, John K. III, Craig, Amie, Ryan and Ronnie, and one brother, William Moran and his wife Bessie of South Carolina.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, July 17th from 1 - 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Monday at 2:00pm in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, 258 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry with cremation to follow.
