
Mr. Hector Godfrey Pettinati, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved husband of Charlotte E. (Giese) Pettinati, died at his home on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2011. He was 93 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 27, 1918, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph J. and Iginia (Calabritto) Pettinati. Hector was a veteran of WWII and was a graduate of Tufts University School of Engineering, graduating with the high honors of Magna Cum Laude. He worked as a Math Teacher for Tufts and was an Assistant Professor. Mr. Pettinati was an avid Bible student and minister. He also served as an elder in the Medford Congreagation of Jehovah’s Witness. Hector loved to teach young people and also enjoyed tutoring. In his younger years, Mr. Pettinati enjoyed wrestling, baseball and swim meets at Huntington Prep School. Hector was a very hard worker his entire life and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Above all, he was a patient and kind husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his beloved wife, Charlotte, he was the loving father of Christine C. and her husband James V. Detore, of Margate, Florida, Laureen P. and her husband Joseph L. Tringale of Derry, New Hampshire, Charlotte J. “Lola” and her husband Bruce C. Dole of North Reading, Heidi L. and her husband Peter G. Lawrence of White Plains, New York and Erica I. Pettinati of Medford. Cherished step-father of late Rosemary C. Turner. Cherished “Opa” of Lori, Ralph Jr, Lindsay, Jesse, Cassandra, Brandon, Sydney, Jonathan, David, Devan, Dawson, Carla and Elana, dear great-grandfather of five and many nieces and nephews.
