Mary Elizabeth Gravely, age 80, of 730 Ferry Road, Danville, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at her residence.
Born October 4, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Howard B. Gravely and Elizabeth M. Gravely. She graduated from Schoolfield High School, then worked for Johnson Department Store and later at Peoples Department Store until retirement.
Survivors include two sisters: Polly G. Dalton and her husband Richard Dalton of Danville, and Clara G. Adams, also of Danville. She is also survived by several cousins.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Arnold Faw will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the graveside in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Swicegood Funeral Home Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m.
