Catherine R. Balsamo age 80 of Canton, formerly of Quincy passed away July 12th at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School. She worked as the Controller for College Town in Braintree for over 30 years and was the Accounts Receivables Manager for TAC Worldwide for 15 years before retiring. She was the Treasurer of the Balsamo Memorial Charitable Foundation for over 20 years and enjoyed bowling, traveling, gambling, cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her Godchildren Donna Dearborn & Vanessa O’Brien both of Canton. She is also survived by many cousins from the Balsamo & Monahan families of Massachusetts and the Balsamo, Bellia & Menino families of New York. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Friday morning at 10:30. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
