Wanda Wilkerson Cain, age 58, of 1824 Fall Creek Drive, Danville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her sister's residence, 1821 Fall Creek Drive.
Born November 3, 1952 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Roy James Wilkerson and Lillian Brummett Wilkerson. Her husband, John Steven Cain, Sr. predeceased her in February 2011. Mrs. Cain was a member of the Salvation Army.
Survivors include one daughter: Tina Wilkerson of Danville; four sisters: Teresa Tate, Deborah Motley, June Martin, and Jennifer Kroffe; three brothers: Jerry Wilkerson, Owen Doss, and Stephen Doss; a special mother-in-law: Thelma Cain; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband,she was predeceased by one brother, Pee Wee Wilkerson.
Funeral services officiated by Captain Allen Tanner will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Barker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning, one hour prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the home of her sister, Jennifer Kroffe,1821 Fall Creek Drive.
