John L. Howard, 78 of Somerville formerly of Cambridge died Sunday after a long illness in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Medford, MA.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Louise Finlay Howard. Mr. Howard was a Lettercarrier, for 30 years with the Brookline Post Office and retired in 1984. John was a U.S. Navy veteran in WW II from 1943 to 1946 and received the Bronze Star.
Beloved husband of Mary (McIntosh). Cherrished son of the late Louise (Finlay) and John L. Howard. Brother of the late Louise Chesney and Dorothy Fee. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8.
Interment will be private.
