Danvers: June M. (Morgan) Sampson, age 81 of Danvers, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Peabody Glen Healthcare in Peabody. She was the wife of the late Alfred Sampson.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Blanche (Demeule) Morgan. As a young woman she worked for the Marblehead Laundry. Shortly after her marriage, June and her husband settled in Danvers. She was a family oriented woman who enjoyed family gatherings. June also loved bowling and for 35 years bowled with several leagues in Beverly. A very religious woman, she was a member of St. Richard Parish of Danvers.
She is survived by her sister, Winifred C. Morgan of Beverly, 4 nieces, Claudia Bowes of Nashua, NH, Judith Saidah of Medford, Lynette O’Connell of Beverly, Marilyn Bowes of Danvers, 2 nephews, Andrew Strople of Beverly and David Bowes of North Carolina. She also leaves her little helpers in life; grandnephew, John Bowes, and great-grandnephews, Kyle Northrup, Tyler Smith, James & John O’Connell, and great-grandniece, Coleen O’Connell.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers at 11 a.m. Visiting hours: Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
