PATON - Robert A. “Bob” Paton, 66, passed away July 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 10, 1945 in Detroit, MI and moved to Fernandina Beach in 1995 from Jacksonville, FL. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Navy. Mr. Paton was retired from Bell South. He was a strong believer in Christ and a member of the River of Praise Worship Center in Yulee. Mr. Paton was a friend to the friendless. He loved to laugh and enjoyed boating, fishing and camping. He is survived by his former spouse and friend, Barbara Paton of Fernandina Beach; four children, Donna Colon’ (Mike) of Yulee, FL, Rhonda Paton-Hawker (Mike) of Jacksonville, FL, Robert B. Paton (Tammy) of Yulee, FL, and Michael D. Paton of Fernandina Beach; seven grandchildren, Justin Colon’, Kristin Colon’, Kailey Paton, Kylyn Paton, Rylan Paton, Ann Marie Paton and Michael Calab Paton; numerous nieces, nephews, and his dog, Cocoa. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at The River of Praise Worship Center with Bishop Larry Osburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The River of Praise Worship Center, 83410 St. Mark Dr., Yulee, FL 32034.
