Bernice J. DiBonaventura, 83, of Sprague Street in Greenville, died Saturday,July 9, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of Dominic “Tom” DiBonaventura and the late Walter Bilida.
Born in Brunswick, Maine a daughter of the late George and Mary McKenzie. She lived in Smithfield for 30 years.
Mrs. DiBonaventura was an Eucharistic Minister and religious educator at St. Philip Church and a member of their Ladies Guild. A past president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, a member of the Smithfield Rotary and Smithfield Lions Club, the Friendly Visitor Program and Respect Life Group. She was a member of the Smithfield Youth Task Force. She was awarded the Peggy Batty Humanitarian Award.
She is also survived by her children, Lawrence “Larry” Bilida of Riverside and Claire A. Bilida of Warwick; three grandchildren, Walter, Valerie and Sarah and one great grandchild, Eleana Paige.
Funeral Wednesday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828. Burial in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Tuesday 4-6PM.
