GEORGE A. PARKER, III , age 77, a Hingham resident for 44 years, died on Monday, Feb. 9th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a brief illness. Born in Stoneham, Mr. Parker was raised and educated in Malden. He was a 1945 graduate of Malden High School and attended Boston University. He was an aircraft technician for Delta Airlines, formerly Northeast Airlines in Boston, retiring 12 years ago. Mr. Parker was active in scouting in Hingham, first as a Cub Scout Cubmaster of Pack 27, and then with the Boy Scouts as Assistant Scout Master, Treasurer and Committeeman of Troop 1.He was a Past Master of Old Colony Masonic Lodge in Hingham and was a member of the Senior Men's Bowling League also in Hingham. For many years, Mr. Parker summered in Little Neck, Ipswich.He leaves his wife, Marilyn F. (Gray) Parker of Hingham and was the father of Kenneth G. Parker and his wife Beth, Nancy E. White and her husband Brian all of Hingham and James S. Parker and his wife Catherine of Marshfield. Grandfather of Emily, Zachary,Bryan, Aria and Paul.Funeral Services Friday, Feb. 13th at 10 AM at the Hingham Congregational Church,378 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham. Interment will follow in the Milton Cemetery.Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Masonic Service will be conducted by Old Colony Lodge of Hingham on Thursday evening at the Downing Chapel at 7:30 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, One Bromfield St., Boston, MA 02108.
