Worcester - David L. Mancini, 72, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, at St. Mary Health Care surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He leaves his children Deborah Ann Mancini of CA, Stephen Mancini and his wife Maryann of Shrewsbury, Joseph Mancini of Worcester, and Krystle Mancini of Leicester; 7 grandchildren Tara, David, Derek, Joshua, Angelina, Cristina, and Stephen; 3 great-grandchildren Lilianna, Anthony, and Lola; and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Ronald Mancini.
David was born in Worcester, son of the late Anthony and Helen (Erickson) Mancini. He graduated from Commerce High School and worked for many years as a bartender in several area restaurants. Davey was loved by all who knew him. He was an avid sports fan, loved all Boston sports teams, enjoyed going to Foxwoods and playing Texas Holdem.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff on the 7th floor at UMASS Memorial Hospital and the staff of St. Mary Healthcare and Hospice for all their compassionate care of David during his illness.
In accordance with David's wishes, there will be no calling hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 7th Floor Cancer Clinic, UMass Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 2795, Worcester MA 01613-9938.
