FALL RIVER…. Pauline R. (Martel) Couture, 77, of Fall River passed away July 9, 2011 at St. Anne’s Hospital following a brief illness.
She was the widow of Leo S. Couture.
Born in Fall River she was a daughter of the late Rosario and Georgette (Tardif) Martel and was a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Couture was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Fall River.
Survivors include 5 sons: Gary Couture and Carl Couture both of Westport, Michael Couture of Bristol, RI, Steven Couture and Christopher Couture both of Fall River, 2 daughters: Elaine Silva of Berkley, and Diane Ramunno of Fall River, 3 brothers: Roger Martel and Richard Martel, both of Fall River, and Robert Martel of Freetown, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the Sister of the late Victor Martel and Irene Bruneau.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St., Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Monday, 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. Couture’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
