SKAGGS, WALLACE L., 75, of Louisville passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011, after a two and a half year battle with cancer.
Wallace was a native of Brownsville, KY, a member of Longfield United Baptist Church and Teamster Local # 89. He also was the owner of Skaggs & Skaggs Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clauda and Ethel Skaggs; a sister, Lela Mae Skaggs; and two brothers, Haskell and LeRoy Skaggs.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary H. (Brown) Skaggs; six children, Alan Skaggs (Amelia), Bridget Skaggs Brown (Gary), Jeffrey Skaggs (Alicia), Tara Skaggs Wilkins, Tommy Skaggs (Stephanie) and Sammy Skaggs (Patty); three sisters, Catherine Overcast, Ruby Skaggs Meredith and Helen Skaggs Webb; a brother, Jerry Skaggs; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Longfield United Baptist Church, with burial in Midway United Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Lindseyville, KY, There will be a visitation at the Midway Church on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. CDT . Visitation will be noon - 8 p.m. Monday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy.
