Obituary

Charles D. Lepore, of Boston, died Friday in the Spaulding Nursing Center, in the North End. He was 88.

Born and raised in the North End, Charlie served in the Army during World War II and participated in battle in Africa and throughout Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a talented trumpeter and played in several bands. Charles also was a talented painter and traveled often to Italy. He worked for many years as a custodian in the Boston Public School System at the Marshall School, the Cleveland School and at headquarters on Court Street.

The beloved son of the late Raffaele and Rosina (Maffeo) Lepore, he was the devoted brother of Alfred Lepore of Boston, Americo Lepore of Woburn and the late Angelo, Domenic, Nicholas and Anthony Lepore. Charlie is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday morning, July 13 from 8:30 to 10:30 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
