Prescilio P. "Prad" Barros, 60, of New Bedford died July 9, 2011 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Candido L. and Clarinda P. (Pina) Barros, he lived in Boston before moving to New Bedford in 1967.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Survivors include his brother, Manuel Barros of New Bedford; 4 sisters, Judith Gonsalves and Zilma Carter, both of New Bedford, Maria Rose of Georgia and Regina Perry of Osterville; a half brother, Daniel Barros of Rhode Island; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Barros' love for music led him to play the bongos. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, July 13th 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, July 12th from 4-8 PM.
