David Arland Levi, 81, of Clarksville, TN died Sunday July 10, 2011 at his residence.
He was born September 27, 1929 in Henderson County, NC son of the late Kenneth Levi and Louise Beddingfield Levi.
He was a retired 1st Sgt with the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a Master Parachutist having served with the 82nd Airborne Division, 101st Airborne Division, the 173rd Airborne Brigade, and the 10th Special Forces Group. He had a variety of medals including the Bronze Star for services in Vietnam. He was also retired from the Trane Company. He was a member of Hilldale Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Jeweldean Atkins Levi; three sons, David R. Levi (Karen), Visalia, CA; Gregory W. Levi (Angie), Lewisburg, TN; and Jerry F. Levi, Paris, TN; three daughters, Pamela Levi Austin (Ed), Fayetteville, TN; Sherry Levi Bagwell, Clarksville, TN; and Hope Levi Snider, Clarksville, TN; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Lytle Jones and Brother John Maltais officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - West with full military honors. Military will serve as pallbearers and grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
