Maria Genoveva (Faustino) Monte, age 68 of Fall River passed away July 7, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Ludgero M. DoMonte. Born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Mariano Vieira Faustino and the late Teresa Melo (Aguiar) Faustino. Prior to retiring, Maria worked as a Machine Operator for Hometex Design Curtain Mfg. She was also a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Maria was the mother of Liliana Fernandes of Fall River, the late Ludgero DoMonte, Mary Lou Carvalho of Fall River, Connie Marques of Warwick, RI, Ana Paula Crowell, Elizabeth DoMonte, Nancy Medeiros, Jason and James DoMonte all of Fall River; the sister of Carolina Baptista of Montreal, Canada; grandmother of 13; great grandmother of 13; and aunt to several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours on SUNDAY 4-8 P.M.
