Doris S. Perras, 94, lifelong Dracut, MA resident died Friday July 8, 2011 at her home following an extended illness. She was born on March 10, 1917 in Dracut, MA, a daughter of the late Armand and Emma (Naro) Poirier. Mrs. Perras worked as a stitcher for Lowell Dress Company for many years. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in Dracut. Along with her husband, she was an avid bowler and loved boating.
She is survived by four daughters, Norma Quinn of Dracut, Marlene Dowrey of Lowell, MA, Judith Gendreau and her husband Edward of Derry, NH, Linda Lanoue and her husband Edward of Dracut, one son, Norman J. Perras, Jr. and his wife Joan of Dracut, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one sister, Theresa Ryder of Westford, MA, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Norman J. Perras, Sr. in 1997.
At the request of the family all services will be private. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, of Derry and Londonderry, NH are handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Perras’ memory to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
