Obituary

Charles F. Steffy age 82 of Canton passed away at the Goddard Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton on July 6th. Born and raised in Pennsylvania he attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. Charles joined the Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War as a Private First Class. He was honorably discharged in March of 1953 receiving the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. After the war Charles worked as a steel worker and a machine operator. Charles lived in Stoughton prior to moving to Canton 40 years ago. He attended the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton and was a member of VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton. Husband of Joyce A. (Churchill) Steffy. Loving father of Richard & Charles P. both of Brockton, Laurie and William A. both of Stoughton. Brother of William A. Steffy of KS. Also survived by his stepfather Robert Lyons and his 7 grand children. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 5-8pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Faith Baptist Church Stoughton Tuesday morning at 10. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park Canton. Army veteran Korean War. The family invites all who wish to join them for a reception in the church hall following the interment.
