Lorayne V. Burgess, R.N., 82, of Arcade Street, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Hospice Care of Rhode Island. She was the widow of Philip E. Burgess.
Born in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Henry and Yvonne (Garand) Senecal. She had lived in Johnston since 1957 and had previously lived in Framingham, MA. She graduated from the CCRI Nursing Program and was a Registered Nurse at Roger Williams Hospital before retiring. She was a member of Ocean State Baptist church.
She is survived by her children; William D. Burgess and his wife, Maggie of Warwick; James M. Burgess and his wife, Ling of Johnston; Kathleen M. Decristafaro and her husband, John of Cranston; Tracy L. Froment and her husband, Kenneth of Cumberland; Holly Monfils of Providence; her daughter in-law Marilyn Garofalo of Providence, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Philip E. Burgess Jr. and Brian L. Burgess and the sister of the late Yvonne Senecal Davis.
Her memorial service will be held Friday, July 15 at 6:00 pm at Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Ocean State Baptist Church Missionary Program.
