Gladys Thelma Smeder, age 90 of Clarksville, TN, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center.
She was born May 24, 1921 in Stewart County, TN, daughter of the late Grover Ellis and Sara Fitzgerald Ellis. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Lester Ellis, and a sister, Opal Atkins.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and had retired as a seamstress at Ft. Campbell.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald F. Smeder, Clarksville; son, Ken Killebrew (Patsy), Clarksville; daughter, Brooksie Alberstadt (John), Erie, PA; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10 a.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Entombment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and a great-grandson. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
