
Pamela Elizabeth Parker, 61, of Tifton, formerly of Peachtree City, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Stephen Webb and Rev. Bruce Sack will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Laney Wooten, Brother Fleming, Carter Choate, Carlos McSwain, Paul Massey and Rick Marcus will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Anna Massey, Oleeta Britt, Ruth Lee, May Choate, Barbara McSwain, Patsy Branch, Mary Rainey, Lorraine Sumner, Margaret Sumner, Sue Kinler, Jill Davis, Jan Brownlee, Jess Humber, Jimmy Moore, Mary Ann Simmons, Mary Jane Theden, and Morgan Calhoun. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Parker was born on September 15, 1949 in Tifton and was the daughter of Jack Parker and Sarah Veazey Parker, both deceased. She began her career as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines at the age of 19 and retired after 32 years of service. Early in her career, she flew domestically, but spent the last 15 years flying on international flights. She was an excellent athlete, excelling at golf, tennis and bowling. She was an avid fisherman and loved the Georgia Bulldogs.
Ms. Parker is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Claudia Parker of Tifton; niece, Sally Parker McLean and her husband, Alex, of St. Simons; nephew, Cliff Parker of Tifton; uncle, Jim Veazey of Dothan, Alabama; cousins, Bob Whiddon of Dothan, Alabama, Jerry Hyson of Mobile, Alabama, Damian Veazey of Birmingham, Alabama and Kitt Stinson of Nashville, Tennessee.
