Derek P. Balliro – of Salem, NH passed away July 2nd. Derek was a beloved son, father, husband, brother and uncle.
Derek was born in Lawrence, the son of Bruno and Sandra S. (Pienta) Bentham. He was a graduate of Methuen High School and attended (NECCO) Northern Essex Community College. He was an incredibly kind and generous soul who touched the lives of many. Whether you met him for two minutes or knew him for 20 years you had a life changing experience. Derek had an unmatched and infectious zest for life and a hysterical sense of humor. He was a truly gifted musician, composer and songwriter. He was also a passionate student of Wei Chi Ryu. His most joyful times were spent with his loved ones laughing until he cried feeling the wind on his face while riding his motorcycle. Derek was a beautiful soul and a bright light in the lives of others that will be missed forever.
Derek was a Finance Manager for JTS Auto of Plaistow, NH.
Derek is survived by his wife Angela (Tremblay) Balliro and his son Neo P. Balliro of Keene, NH, step-daughter Alexa Fields of Salem, NH, his mom Sandra S. (Pienta) Bentham of Salem, NH,, father Bruno Balliro of Boston, Ma., his step-father Phillip Bentham of Methuen, one sister Gina Kettner-Newby and her husband Joel, two brothers Phillip C. Bentham ll of Methuen and Frank and his wife Cheryl Balliro also of Methuen. Derek is also survived by his niece Lillie S. Newby with whom he shared a special bond and birthday.
Funeral Services will take place on Saturday at 12:00 o’clock from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Saturday from 10 o’clock - 11:45 at the funeral home.
