
L.B. “Buster” Brown, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2011, in the Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born July 30, 1927 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Lester C. and Jessie Bentsen Brown. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1991 from Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Brown was a retired First Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II, Vietnam and Korean War era. After retiring from the military, he went to work for Firestone in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Brown was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Ben Hillbilly Clan. He was a member of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by several extended family members including, Ronnie Kennedy and Craig Seagroves both of Fitzgerald. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Seagroves Brown.
