
Doris E. (Boardman) Parker, 99, of Dartmouth formerly of Westport, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was wife of the late Joseph Parker, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Ellen (Aspin) Boardman, she had lived in Westport for over 50 years. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School. Prior to retirement in 1968, she had worked for the New Bedford Cemetery Department. Mrs. Parker was a former member of the Westport Point United Methodist Church, a former member of the Noquochoke Senior Citizens Club and a former member of the Cortez Allen Chapter #161 O.E.S. Westport. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter: Joan P. Wheaton of Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren: Michael Wheaton, Timothy Wheaton, Lynne Pimental, Andrew Wheaton, Alan Parker and Tracy Bellevance; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Richard Parker and sister of the late Robert Boardman and Millicent Cairns.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Friday 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral.
Interment will be private.
