Salem: Anna A. (Thibault) Longval, age 90 of Salem, died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Radius Health Care Center in Danvers following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edward A. ‘Red’ Longval, with whom she had shared 46 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Jennie (Plourde) Thibault. Anna at one time worked in laundering the linens for the former General Glover Restaurant and for many years worked part time for Carol Ann Donuts in Salem. With her children in St. Joseph School, she was active in fund raising for the former St. Joseph Parish and School. She was a member of Les Dames de la Ste. Famille of St. Joseph Parish. Anna also loved cooking and was a very clever and creative seamstress. For years she enjoyed working as a warden for the polls during elections.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Priscilla A. ‘Penny’ Xiarhos and her husband Louis of Harrington, DE, Suzanne C. Silveira and her husband Joseph of Wakefield, Pamela M. Plummer and her husband Charles of Groveland, 4 grandchildren, Theodore Xiarhos of Nevada & Amanda Xiarhos of Oregon, Cameron & Luke Plummer both of Groveland.
She is also survived by a sister, Doris Kamberalis and her husband Nick of California and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Gagnon.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem.
