Janice T. Dearth, 94, of E. Derry, NH, died Sunday July 3, 2011 in the Courville at Manchester in Manchester, NH. She was born in Manchester on October 28, 1916, a daughter of the late Eugene and Esther (Hunt) True. She had been a resident of E. Derry since 1946. Janice was the Supervisor of the Checklist for the Town of Derry for several years. She had been a member of the Derry Trail Riders, the Thalian Club, and Se-Lo-Ki. Janice loved her family and her home, she loved animals, German Shepard dogs, horses, and especially her retired racehorse, Criss M.
She is survived by her son, Wayland Dearth of East Derry; her daughter, Lin D. Conger of East Derry; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son William Dearth in April 2011, and her husband Howard S. Dearth.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service was held in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry Road, E. Derry on Friday, July 8th at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry, 4 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038 or to the Taylor Library, PO Box 110, E. Derry, NH 03041. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
