Obituary

Mrs. Roxie Mabe Cromer, age 87, of Danbury, passed away on, Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1923 in Stokes County to the late Bob and Dora Joyce Mabe. Mrs. Cromer was a farmer and housewife and attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Cromer is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Edward “Pee Wee” Cromer, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Joyce Cromer, of Lawsonville; four daughters, Margaret Barber, of King, Betty Mabe, Carolyn Fulp (Buster), and Janice Turney, all of Danbury; four sisters, Ola Fagg, of King, Martha Joyce (Frank Jr.), Bazie Smith, and Annie Bennett, all of Danbury; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter. Mrs. Cromer was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Wayne Cromer and Jimmy Cromer; three brothers, Willis Mabe, Ulus Mabe, and Paul Mabe; three sisters, Thelma Cook, Lear Dyson, and Stella Stevens; and one grandson, Timmy Barber. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Chapel of Danbury with Rev. Donald McHone and Rev. Randy Cook officiating with interment to follow at the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on, Monday, July 4, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Danbury.
