Pomarico, Joseph A.”THE PIPE” of East Weymouth, July 2, 2011 at the age of 98. Son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Cisco) Pomarico. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (Labadie) Pomarico. Dear father of Ralph Pomarico of Weymouth, Janet Nelson and her husband Earle of East Weymouth, Donna Celino and her husband Frank of Pembroke, David Pomarico and his friend Nora of Weymouth, Joseph Pomarico and his wife Claire of Kingston, and Katherine Pomarico and her partner Richard Hagen of Port Orange, FL. Predeceased by daughter Virginia and grandson Jimmy Nelson. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Antoinette Lyden of East Weymouth and the late Margaret Braccia, Nicholas Pomarico, Mary Muscillo, Clara Gherardi, Rosalie Perrone, Lucia Olson, William Pomarico, Anna Morse, and Prudence Lilla. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was born in Weymouth and a life long resident. He was a fire fighter for Bethlehem Steel and retired from General Dynamics. After retirement he was employed by Notre Dame Academy and was a pizza maker at Denley’s. Joe was a member of the South Shore Country Club and President’s Country Club. He was an avid golfer and great Weymouth athlete. He was a life long member of Weymouth Sons of Italy. Joe was also a Coast Watcher in Brant Rock during World War II.
Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Broad Street, East Weymouth, MA on Saturday, July 9, at 10:00 AM.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield on Friday, July 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
Interment will be in the St Paul's Cemetery, Hingham
