Mildred B. Buckley, of Stoneham formerly of Wilmington passed away July 2nd, with her loving family by her side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a lengthy illness. She was 82. Mildred was the beloved wife of the late Matthew A. "Bucky" Buckley. Born in Lubec, Maine she was the daughter of the late John and Violet Louise (Pearson) Benner.
Mildred worked for more than twenty years as a car cleaner for the New York Central Rail Road prior to her retirement. She also enjoyed volunteering at the South Shore Hospital for many years and she also loved to travel. Her greatest joy came from being with her family. Family was everything to Mildred. She cherished spending time with her children and especially loved caring for her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Mildred is survived by her children, Paul J. Greenwood of Malden, Pamela S. Buckley and her husband John of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Katherine Lanphere and her husband Derek of Medford, John Buckley of Malden and Paul Buckley of Medford. She was the loving great grandmother of Aiden and Daryn Lanphere. Sister of Anna Malfa and her late husband Steve of Wilmington, Kenneth Benner of Wilmington. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Mary Cosetta and her husband William of Quincy and their children Nicole and Chrissy. She is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main Street, WILMINGTON, Wednesday, July 6, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mildred’s memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
