FUGATE, ALLAN G. SR., 67, passed away June 30, 2011 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a graduate of Louisville Male High School, before joining the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam, returning home and became the chief of police in Princeton, Kentucky.
He served as the manager of several private security firms in Kentucky. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves and retired a staff sergeant. He retired from the University of Louisville Department of Public Safety, and had worked for the Metropolitan Correction Department. He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge and a life member of the N.R.A., firearms instructor.
Survived by his wife of 43 Years Mary R. ( Dunn) Fugate, sons Allan G. Fugate Jr. and his wife Tonia and Miami; granddaughters, Alexis and Belladonna. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service is Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with cremation to follow.
Visitation is Tuesday from noon-3 p.m. A wake will be held at the F.O.P. Lodge #77, 3556 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, on Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Any foods or refreshments can be brought to the Lodge on Sunday
