Manchester– Violette C. Garcia, 87, died June 30, 2011 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on June 19, 1924 one of four children to Charles and Edouardina (Sansoucie) Bernier. She had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.
She was educated in the Manchester School System. She was a machine operator for International Paper.
Family members include her husband of 30 years, Angelo L. Garcia of Manchester, 2 sons, Leo Garand, Gary Garand, 1 daughter, Yvette Gravel, all of Manchester, 4 step sons, Fred Garcia of MA., Ben Garcia of Manchester, Ephraim Garcia of Milford, David Garcia of Manchester, 2 step daughters, Elisabeth Escobar, Cindy Garcia, both of MA., 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Her Life: She also leaves her closest and dearest friend of 50 years, Lorraine Audet of Merrimack. She was predeceased by 1 brother, Leo Bernier and 2 sisters, Loretta Doyon and Elsie Laplante.
Services: A calling hour will take place on Tuesday from 12 to 1 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Violette’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
